About The Virtual Chase
Founded by law librarian Genie Tyberski 1996, the Virtual Chase began as a means by which to disseminate articles and teaching aids to law librarians and other instructors of Internet research. Later owned by the law firm Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP, and manged by Ms. Tyberski, the site evovled into a rich archive of articles, guides, teaching materials, an alert service on Internet research strategies and resources. Justia.com aquired The Virtual Chase in 2008 and has further developed the site to include links and feeds to events and other librarian community and Web 2.0 resources. About The Founder
Genie Tyburski, a professional researcher, has worked in law libraries for more than 20 years. She has written for trade journals and newsletters, including Law Office Computing, Law Practice Magazine and The CyberSkeptic's Guide to Internet Research. Genie speaks about Internet research issues at information industry and continuing legal education programs. She teaches online distance education classes in research and public records research at the University of North Carolina School of Journalism and Mass Communication. She received recognition as one of Library Journal's Movers and Shakers 2004 and was featured in the book, Law of the Super Searchers: The Online Secrets of Top Legal Researchers. She is editor of Introduction to Online Legal, Regulatory & Intellectual Property Research, which is a volume in the Business Research Solution Series by South-Western Education Publishing. Genie received her M.S. in Information Studies from Drexel University, and is a member of the American Association of Law Libraries, Special Libraries Association and Association of Independent Information Professionals.
