ChoiceTrust

Online public records provider Choicepoint offers this consumer Web site for obtaining information about one's own "insurance score." Consumers may purchase their score for automobile and homeowners insurance underwriting. The score reveals the percentage of consumers who receive a score lower than yours; e.g., an automobile score of 764 means that about 72% percent of insured drivers receive a lower score (or higher insurance premium).

Factors that affect insurance scores include outstanding debt, duration of credit history, late payments, new applications for credit, pending lawsuits, and more. The insurance score report also includes a credit report from Equifax. Several layers of security at the Web site guard consumers against unauthorized access of their credit information.
